Product Description

The model of the Monkeys first appeared in the Czechoslovakian army during WWII. The boots were light and strong. Ready for combat. In the early sixties the Monkey boots were adopted by the mods (or modernists); a subculture with a focus on jazzmusic and fashion. The punks adopted them in the late 70s and up until now, the Monkeys are a welcome model on the streets. A pair of selvedge denim and some casual Monkeys are a killer combo. We introduce the Monkey Boots in vegetable tanned leather. Cheers, the Butts and Shoulders team.

After being thrilled with my two Butts and Shoulders boots, I just had to buy a pair for my wife too!
As with the last orders, everything went very well and the shoes arrived quickly in Germany.
The packaging and the enclosed accessories are a pleasure every time. The bag for the boots and the key ring are top again. I don’t know where to put the keychain anymore 😉

The Monkey Boots look great and are very well made. I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop over time.

In the photo (sunbathing after cleaning) you can see how the colour changes over time. I bought the Worker Boots in December 2020 and have worn them a lot since then. Many walks through snow and rain. I have treated them from time to time with Tapir’s colourless leather balm (natural leather care without chemicals and petroleum). The colour difference to the new Monkey Boots is bigger than I expected, but I love the patina my Workers have developed.

At the moment, my wife is still breaking in the shoes. Although the size fits perfectly, she is still getting blisters. We assume that this small problem will be solved quite quickly when the leather becomes softer through wearing.

All in all, great shoes again!

Excellent quality – material, work, everything. Beautiful, lightweight, comfy spring/autumn shoes. But please guys, made B&S boot/shoe range also in “E” width for us who have wider feet to do not have to size up.

Na een maand vrijwel dagelijks gebruik.

Erg mooi product. Eenmaal aangedaan en nooit meer uitgedaan! Zaten van het begin af aan nagenoeg als gegoten. Geen blaren o.i.d.

Great fit on my slightly wider foot from the off. Usually go for a uk 10.5 though these 10’s are a snug fit with plenty of room for toe movement, gentle also on my outer metatarsal joint (although I’ve started to wear protective cushioning at these points which I find helpful. I should say my recommended B&S size at a 29cm foot length was 9, however I think that would have been too small noting my slightly wider foot. In terms of breathability, not too hot and not too cold, and liking them with a more slim fit jean. Looking forward to seeing how they stand up over time.

I was not sure about the sizing because I normally need them in extra wide. My Red Wing size is 10.5 (US) EE. I choose the Monkeys in 10.5 (UK) = 11 (US) and this was the right decision, Perfect Fit.

5⭐️ Rating, what more to say! This boot is awesome! The leather is great, the finish is as expected! Perfect! The fit is comfy. No thicker socks needed to wear them in. So that’s the boot. Then there is the customer service. If you have any questions about it, the chat option brings you to chat with the CEO. I had a great experience. Great craftsmanship! Will tell everyone about it! Well deserved! Mark
