The leather is good quality, the construction has been done very professionally. The welt works (although it does leak a bit at the point where the two ends meet just in front of the heel). They look good and are comfortable. Be advised that the smooth soles on these do not offer the best grip on wet/slippery surfaces.

Two negatives: 1: the insole is non-existent. It is hard and does not offer much cushoning. I advise wearing thick boot socks or walking/hiking socks with these. 2: The rubber layer on the heel wears down a bit to fast for me. Perhaps it’s partially due to my walking style, but on the left boot the edge has already worn down almost to the leather.

Overall, I would say that they ARE worth the money.

Sizing advice offered on the site appears to be accurate. I measured my feet with medium thick boot socks on, which came to exactly 26.5cm. I chose the first size above that, so size 8 (27cm). They fit well. I can wear them in summer with thin socks, and in winter with thick socks without feeling cramped or feeling like I’m swimming in room.

Size: Same sizing compare to Red Wing heritage boots.
Comfort: 7.5/10 (leather is hard and “dry” but not to the point that is uncomfortable … I guess it takes time to break in). Workmanship/Quality Control: 7.5/10 (the stitching is neat. I could have given an 8 if not for the nails not properly hammered in on the outsole. On many occasions, I almost slipped and fall. A potential torn ACL waiting to happen). Putting it on & removing it: 7.5/10
Packaging/box: 8/10 (if it matters to you). The design of the box is plain but in the box, it includes an additional laces (a darker laces to match the patina), a nice shoe bag, a key chain and a personal message. – a nice touch.
What I Like: The clean look of the boots. The overall shape of the boots. The stages of patina over time (I look forward to that). The 360 degree “Goodyear Welted” stitching.
    Overall: 7.5/10
Extra notes: This pair is “very light” (approx. 1.3kg) compared to all the boots I owned so far. This is likely due to the combination of outsole material used and thickness, lack of steel shank and non full lining.

Thanks Benedict, for your extensive review. This will help others with their choice. Glad you like the lightness. For the hard en ‘dry’ feel, we recommend using our bee-wax or any other good wax. Concerning the nails, we have adjusted this in the production already.
